Our focus this year is to keep our eyes on Jesus. We are not just to pray when we need something or when we have something to celebrate. We are to pray continually. We are to seek the truth of God's Word as the Life-changing power of Jesus and what He purchased for us through the cross. All year we will focus on various scriptures that are 3:16. This means chapter 3, verse 16. Most people know John 3:16 - For God so loved the world that he gave his one and only begotten son, that whosoever believes in him will not perish but have eternal life. Did you know about all of the other powerful 3:16 scriptures? Here are the ones we will focus on, from the Message.

Matthew 3:16 -- The moment Jesus came up out of the baptismal waters, the skies opened up and he saw God’s Spirit—it looked like a dove—descending and landing on him.

Luke 3:16 -- But John intervened: “I’m baptizing you here in the river. The main character in this drama, to whom I’m a mere stagehand, will ignite the kingdom life, a fire, the Holy Spirit within you, changing you from the inside out.

Acts 3:16 -- Faith in Jesus’ name put this man, whose condition you know so well, on his feet—yes, faith and nothing but faith put this man healed and whole right before your eyes.

1 Corinthians 3:16 -- You realize, don’t you, that you are the temple of God, and God himself is present in you?

2 Corinthians 3:16 -- Whenever, though, they turn to face God as Moses did, God removes the veil and there they are—face-to-face.

Ephesians 3:16 -- I ask him to strengthen you by his Spirit—not a brute strength but a glorious inner strength—that Christ will live in you as you open the door and invite him in.

Philippians 3:16 -- If any of you have something else in mind, something less than total commitment, God will clear your blurred vision—you’ll see it yet!Now that we’re on the right track, let’s stay on it.

Colossians 3:16 -- Let the peace of Christ keep you in tune with each other, in step with each other. None of this going off and doing your own thing. And cultivate thankfulness.

2 Thessalonians 3:16 -- May the Master of Peace himself give you the gift of getting along with each other at all times, in all ways. May the Master be truly among you

1 Timothy 3:16 -- He appeared in a human body, was proved right by the invisible Spirit, was seen by angels. He was proclaimed among all kinds of peoples, believed in all over the world, taken up into heavenly glory

2 Timothy 3:16 -- There’s nothing like the written Word of God for showing you the way to salvation through faith in Christ Jesus. Every part of Scripture is God-breathed and useful one way or another—showing us truth, exposing our rebellion, correcting our mistakes, training us to live God’s way.

James 3:16 -- Whenever you’re trying to look better than others or get the better of others, things fall apart and everyone ends up at the others’ throats.

1 Peter 3:16 -- Keep a clear conscience before God so that when people throw mud at you, none of it will stick.

2 Peter 3:16 -- Irresponsible people who don’t know what they are talking about twist them every which way. They do it to the rest of the Scriptures, too, destroying themselves as they do it.

1 John 3:16 -- This is how we’ve come to understand and experience love: Christ sacrificed his life for us. This is why we ought to live sacrificially for our fellow believers, and not just be out for ourselves.

Revelation 3:16 -- You’re not cold, you’re not hot—far better to be either cold or hot! You’re stale. You’re stagnant. You make me want to vomit.
